Why Would I Want To Join?

To Impact Your Community
Kiwanians are proactive men and women who believe that positive impact in their community is the way to build a stronger Tulsa. They are involved in reaching out and serving others. Through projects that directly impact the quality of the lives of Tulsa area youth, members are at the forefront in making a difference in the city.

To Increase Your Social and Business Network
The Kiwanis Club of Tulsa is also a living, breathing, and active network of personal contacts. Kiwanians are people who are connected; connected to business leaders, creative entrepreneurs, elected officials, and other people of influence. Interaction with members at club meetings, service projects and various social functions are conducive to building meaningful relationships that will last a lifetime.

To Learn More
Regularly scheduled club meetings are held on Mondays of each month at noon and quarterly in the evening. Click here for more meeting details. Each club meeting features a speaker from our area who is a leader in their field of expertise. The speakers provide members with a wealth of information regarding their company, their industry, their civic responsibilities, and our city, county, state, and national governments. Members have the opportunity to ask questions of the speakers at the end of their presentations and many times share in one-on-one interaction after the meeting has concluded. The Kiwanis Club of Tulsa strives to provide the highest level of program speakers that will provide the maximum benefit for the membership.

What is the Time Committment?
You get out of Kiwanis what you put into it. While we do not require you to attend meetings, like other civic organizations, we do encourage that as a minimum, you try and follow a 3-2-1 footprint. This consists of 3 hours of service, 2 hours of social interaction and 1 hour of club meetings each month. The club strives to provide at least one opportunity from each of these categories for the members to choose from each month. Service projects include: Done in a Day, Key Clubs, Young Children Priority One, Miss Oklahomaand various club administrative and project committees. You can learn more about those opportunities in the "What We Do" section of this website. Some months will be easier than others for a member to fulfill the 3-2-1 goal. We only ask our members to the best they can for the good of the club and their own personal growth. Kiwanis will be what you make of it.
